Winter’s cityside
Crystal bits of snowflakes
All around my head and in the wind
I had no illusions
That I’d ever find a glimpse
Of summer’s heatwaves in your eyes

When I go don’t cry for me
In my father’s arms I’ll be
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I’ll be whole
Sun and moon will be replaced with the light of Jesus‘ face
And I will not be ashamed for my savior knows my name
It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter anywhere I lay
All my tears be washed away
*No One Painted Winter Quite Like Anders Andersen-Lundby*
Anders Andersen-Lundby (1841–1923) was a Danish landscape painter who turned winter into something truly magical. His snow-covered forests, frozen lakes, and quiet country scenes capture nature at its most peaceful.
In *Thaw in a Beech Forest* (1881), *Forest in Winter* (1882), and *As Evening Falls* (1882), delicate light filters through trees and settles across the snow. *A Water Mill in Winter* (1883) brings a touch of rural life to the frozen landscape, while *Summer’s Day on Lake Starnberg* (1884) offers a beautiful contrast to his familiar winter scenes.
From the stillness of *Winter Evening* (1886) to the soft morning light of *Winter Woodland at Dawn* (1888), and the snowy paths of *Winter Day in the English Garden in Munich* (1890) and *Winter Day at the Lake* (1887), every painting reveals a different mood.
With subtle shades of white, blue, and grey, Andersen-Lundby reminds us that winter is more than cold and darkness. It is a season of silence, delicate beauty, and timeless peace.

Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven’s store
Come and drink and thirst no more
So weep not for me my friend when my time below does end
For my life belongs to Him who will raise the dead again

It don’t matter where you bury me
I’ll be home and I’ll be free
It don’t matter anywhere I lay
All my tears be washed away
All my tears be washed away
